21 Dec It’s a Wrap!
Following up a successful crowd-funding campaign, Jeanne Magazine (France) has published a four-page spread on the A Matter of Time Project. Click here for the link to an excerpt from the online edition.
Another exciting development occurred late last month as David Hardy launched BOLD: Stories from older lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people. More than 50 older LGBTI people share their stories and images – of first love and family, of struggle and defiance and resistance and pride. They include prominent Australian activists including Bob Brown, Sally Goldner and the Hon. Michael Kirby. Many of the stories are by ordinary and extraordinary people who may be Indigenous, born overseas, or live in cities or small towns across Australia, New Zealand, UK, US and Ireland. I’m very honoured to have been invited to publish a chapter in this book – A Matter of Time participant Barbara Bryce’s story was featured in this landmark collection of narratives. I also contributed images to Dr Ros Prosser’s chapter on Adelaide drag performers, Vonni, Rouge and Dr. Gertrude Glossip.

What the Press is Saying: A few weeks ago this campaign and the A Matter of Time Project was featured on Buzzfeed. Here are the links to press stories on the project since then:
ABC Radio Gold Coast: Heather Faulkner’s Story: What does it mean to be queer on the GC? (from 1989 – 2015)
The Girl Crowd: Episode 6 Dr Heather Faulkner
Many thanks to all supporters of the project and the forth-coming book. Wishing everyone love and happiness over the holidays and the new year.
